WinKeyFinder Retrieves and Changes Windows and Office Product Key
Microsoft uses product keys that are unique to every end users which will turn their Windows or Office into a genuine product. It is very important to note down and keep the product key in case you need to reinstall Windows and use the product key to activate the Windows. If you have lost the Windows installation disc cover which has a sticker with the product key, it may seem impossible to retrieve the key from the system because the product keys are encoded and stored in the registry.
To decode and retrieve the Windows key that is installed on a system, you will need to use a tool called WinKeyFinder which is probably short for the full name Windows Product Key Finder. WinKeyFinder is a portable software and when run, it shows the Windows version that is installed on the system with the Product Key. Other extra information such as service pack, owner, organization and product ID is also shown. Other than retrieving Windows key, WinKeyFinder also supports retrieving Microsoft Office product key.
WinKeyFinder is free and supports Windows 98, ME, XP, Vista and 7 both 32 and 64 bit. As for Microsoft Office, it supports Office XP, 2003, 2007 and even the upcoming 2010.
