Over 50 Windows 7 GodMode Shortcuts Anywhere

April 10, 2010 | Filed under Software, Windows 7

We first heard about GodMode in Windows 7 and thought that the name given for it is a little deceiving. If you played computer games before and used any of the cheat codes, you should know that a GodMode means that you do not die or accept no damage at all. We thought that the Windows 7 GodMode is a hidden mechanism where it locks up Windows and prevents any changes or modifications to Windows 7 but no it’s not.

Basically Windows 7 GodMode is only a shortcut where it allows users to access all of the Windows 7 control panels from a folder. For example, try creating a folder at desktop and name it as GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}. You will see that the icon changes instantly and double clicking on that GodMode folder shows a long list of control options. If you haven’t noticed, the name of the controls are the same ones that appears on the Search programs and files bar at the Start menu when it matches a certain keyword that you type on it.

A utility that is related to Windows 7 GodMode is the Go GodMode where it allows you to create over 50 GodModes just by selecting them and pressing the GO button. Instead of creating the folders on your desktop, you can create them in a folder on your computer and just create a shortcut on your desktop. You can also add shortcuts to the Start Menu, QuickLaunch and Favorites folder.
