The only way to protect a folder in Windows is by creating different user accounts and set the user profile as private. This way, users cannot access other users home folder. If you are sharing a computer and wants something to protect your folder, FolderDefence is able to do just that without costing a dime. FolderDefence is a free and extremely easy software to hide, lock and password protect your private files and folders from other users, programs or malicious application.

FolderDefence enables you to password protect all the private or sensitive information on your hard drive(s). You can make your files and folders inaccessible, invisible or protect them from modification and deletion. The protected data is not accessible by any users or applications – no matter how they are trying to get in – locally or from the net. Intuitive user interface of FolderDefence will suit the needs of everyone – from novice Windows users to computer experts. The amount of files/folders on computer, that you can protect with FolderDefence, is unlimited.

FolderDefence Protects and Hides Folders

Although this application is free, but it has been programmed carefully with logic. For example, this software cannot be found running in Windows Task Manager as it is stealth. When the protection is enabled and password has been set, you cannot uninstall the program to remove the folder protection. Even if you get in to Safe Mode, the protection module will still be running and folder is protected. Unfortunately this tool can only be used by one single user as it doesn’t have the ability to create multiple accounts and protect different folders. Everything is done under one account. FolderDefence supports Windows XP, Server 2003, Vista, Server 2008 and Windows 7.
