Get Feed Updates Instantly via System Tray Popup Notifications with Feed Notifier

Feed is a very useful feature that is available on most websites nowadays. If a person has a feed reader, he/she can add a list of feeds and with only a click of button the feed reader is able to check if there are any new posts or articles on the website. This saves us a lot of time in manually typing the URL of every page that we normally visit daily. It is also faster because it loads only the contents without the extras such as advertisements, graphics, themes and etc that is found on the website.
If you find that a feed reader does too much and wants a simple notifier which shows an excerpt of a content, then give Feed Notifier a try. Feed Notifier is a free Windows application that resides in the system tray and displays pop-up notifications on your desktop when new items arrive in your subscribed RSS or Atom feeds. The notification popup looks like the screenshot below by default, which can be changed because it supports theme and positioning so you can move the popup to anywhere on your screen.
Feed Notifier also has some smart feature where it can stop checking for feed updates when the computer has been idle for an amount of seconds. If you are interested in reading the whole feed content, just click on the title and your default browser will open together with the page that you want to read.
What we liked about Feed Notifier is it is fast, and has a very clean interface. However it does take up quite a big number of memory which is more than 40MB.
