Easily Create Symbolic Link with mklink GUI symlinker
Previously we have shared with you on how you can move files to another location or hard drive and create a symbolic link that redirects all the request from the old path to the new path with Junction Link Magic. This is done easily even if the software has path restriction that doesn’t allow you to switch the database location. The only restriction on Junction Link Magic is it can only create symbolic links on folders but not files.
You can manually map the links using mklink which is in command line. To makes things easier, there is a GUI for mklink which you can easily create symbolic links without the mklink command line knowledge. A GUI is a graphical user interface for you to click and type and everything is done with a click.
symlinker is a free symbolic link creator with GUI. With this utility you can use the symlink application Microsoft Windows has well hidden inside the cmd.exe app. The goal is just make it easier to create symbolic links, hard links, or directory junctions, using a pretty simple interface, so no more bogus command line to do it… The good thing about symlinker is it supports creating symbolic links for both folders and file.
Symlinker is free and requires .Net Framework 3.5 to run (SP1 recommended).
