Mustek brand has been globally well known for its excellent quality, professional support, and extensive service. One of the product that they create is the UPS. An uninterruptible power supply, or battery backup, is an electrical apparatus that provides emergency power to a load when the input power source, typically the utility mains, fails. Servers and many important computers that host important service and files normally has a UPS installed because when the power fails and the computer shuts down improperly, it can cause hardware failure or even worst, file corruption…

The UPS on-battery runtime of most uninterruptible power sources is relatively short with 5–15 minutes being typical for smaller units and sometimes it is not long enough to maintain the computer turned on until the main power supply resumes. This is even more important to make sure that the UPS is able to shut down the computer gracefully before the battery from the UPS runs out.

WinMust is a free Windows application alternative to Winpower designed to monitor and control a compatible Mustek brand UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). It provides the user with status information, such as battery voltage, AC line failure or backup operating mode. Should the UPS run out of battery, the software can be configured to shut down the host computer to prevent damage to the system or loss of data.
