When you have entered a Microsoft Office product key, there is no way in the program that you can view, change or even remove it. The Office product key is encrypted and installed to Windows registry. Remembering registry paths are annoying because they can be very long and there are probably hundreds of them which you need to remember. To easily remove Office product key from a Windows computer, you can use the portable application called Office Key Remover.
Office Key Remover is a small, portable, simple and free application that runs on .NET Framework, allowing you to remove the licensing information of Microsoft Office XP, 2003, 2007 and 2010 on 32Bit and 64Bit systems with one click.
If you are not sure what version of Microsoft Office is installed on your computer, clicking on all 4 buttons to remove Office XP, Office 2003, Office 2007 and Office 2010 will surely delete any Microsoft Office license on your computer. After removing an existing office key, you will be prompted to enter a 25 characters product key when you launch any of the Office software such as Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint.
It is common that many software read and write settings in Windows registry. For example, when you set the start page for Internet Explorer, it saves the setting and the next time you open IE browser, it will automatically open the start page that you specified. Internet Explorer saves this setting in Windows registry. There are advanced registry and file monitoring tool which are not so easy to use because it monitors everything and you have to fiddle with the filters to remove the results that you don’t want.
An easier application to monitor the registry changes is by using RegFromApp, which is a simple software which you can set it to monitor a specific application on modification or addition on the registry. When you first run RegFromApp, it will show a window of currently running process for you to choose to monitor. If you want to monitor the registry changes for a running process, you can select it from the list. If you want to monitor the application from start, then cancel the window and click on the second icon that says Start New Process. You get to browse the file and specify extra parameters if necessary. Make sure Start tracing immediately checkbox is enabled and click OK.
RegFromApp does not show you the registry changes instantly. The application must be terminated to show the results. Another thing is RegFromApp shows only the modified and added registry but not the deleted or removed registry values. RegFromApp is free, portable and works on Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, and Windows 7. Definitely a great tool to discover the registry settings for a particular software settings.

You can easily disable the startup item by right clicking on it and select Disable Selected Items. Once the item is disabled, some programs might auto added to startup again whenever you launch it and WhatInStartup has a special feature called Permanent Disabling to detect the change and disable it again.
