Taking a photo that is blur can be disappointing especially when you know that are probably never going to go back there again. As for forensics, fixing a blur photo is also important so that they can gather evidence which are probably missed by a naked eye. It is possible to fix a blur photo by sharpening the image but you cannot expect to get a fully clear image but just an image that is acceptable quality. One way to easily and automatically fix blur photos is by using Unshake.
Unshake requires Java to run. After downloading Unshake, extract it and run Unshake.jar file which is an executable Jar file. It can only be executed if Java is installed. To determine whether Java is installed on your computer, go to Java.com. When Unshake is launched, click the Open button to load the blur image. Then you get to select the level of amplification, normal or severe blur, and quality estimation of basic, portrait or scenic.
Unshake is free and because it runs on Java, you can expect it to run on operating systems other than Windows such as Linux and Mac OS.
Good painters are able to use a pencil to sketch a person’s face or even a scenery to a drawing pad but even a person who can’t paint or draw can now provide a sketch based on a digital photo. This can be done instantly and automatically using a free software called Instant Photo Sketch.
Instant Photo Sketch can support many major image formats such as PNG, JPG, BMP, JPEG, TIFF, TIF and GIF. All you need to do is load the image to the program and drag the slider to adjust the level of detail. Moving the slider to the left for more detail and darker sketch and to the right for less detail and brighter sketch. The result looks exactly the same as the original photo except it is in pencil sketch. Clicking the Save button allows you to save the converted photo into either JPG or PNG format. It also has a zoom button for you to zoom the sketch
Everything works as expected but the Edit menu seems to be incomplete as it doesn’t contain any function. Instant Photo Sketch is free to use and is able to run on Windows.

A photographer normally ends up with tons of photos in their computer and if not regularly maintained, the photos will end up everywhere and it is not going to be easy to search for the photos you wanted. If you normally save all your photos into one folder, you can easily organize it by moving them to the appropriate folder based on year, month and if possible date. An unmodified photo normally maintains the EXIF data where it saves the “Date Taken” value in the photo itself. Manually checking on the photo EXIF details is going to take you days to finish doing it.
You can try using Adebis Photo Sorter to automatically create folders based on year, month and date and move the photos to the appropriate folders. First you select the source of where the photos are located and you can set it to crawl subfolders too. And then set the destination of where you want the photos to move to. The subfolder drop down selection allows you to set whether the photos based on the date structure. There is filters for you to set the specific date and also file types.
We have tested this application and it works only on untouched and unmodified photo. If the photo has been previously edited with Adobe Photoshop or any other similar photo editing software, then Adebis Photo Sorter doesn’t copy the photo to the structure. Adebis Photo Sorter works on Windows 95/98/Me/2000/2003/NT4/XP/Vista/7
There are many image hosting websites that allows users to upload images, photos and pictures which allows anyone to view it publicly by sharing the link. However there are a few types of links provided by the image hosting site such as the link, direct link, widget code, forum code, alt forum code, HTML code, forum thumnail, alt forum thumbnail and HTML thumbnail. For a user that don’t know much about computer, most probably they will be sharing the link instead of direct link.
The different between the two links are the link sends the user to the image hosting website with a lot of garbage on the page such as advertisements and etc. As for the direct link, it is a link only to show the image and nothing more.
Firefox will require GreaseMonkey extension together with the userscript and Chrome with just the extension called Show Just Image to remove all the junk from the normal image hosting link and showing only the image. This saves you from having to click another time on the thumbnail to zoom and view the image in full. Show Just Image currently supports 90 image hosting sites including some of the popular ones such ImageShack, Photobucket, flickr, tinypic… There is nothing you need to do, just install and the extension will detect and redirect automatically to the direct image link.
