Auto Check Multiple Gmail Account Simultaneously
Gmail is one of the best free webmail offered by Google. The web user interface is fast and light and the spam filter is just amazing filtering almost all of the junk mails. Since Gmail is free and you can register as many account as you want, some people tends to end up with more than one Gmail account and checking each account is quite troublesome. The easier solution is to use Gmail Notifier that is capable of checking multiple Gmail accounts simultaneously without manually logging in to Gmail, check email, log out and do the same thing again for the next account.
Since you need to enter your Gmail login credentials to the software, they have promised that they do not spy on your email address or password and also your email contents. There is a limit of only 5 Gmail account it can monitor and you can’t go more than that. Google Notifier uses IMAP protocol to monitor the Gmail accounts. You must of course enable IMAP support on your Gmail account by going to Forwarding and POP/IMAP in Settings.

Gmail Notifier checks for new emails every 2 minutes and this value is hardcoded that cannot be changed. Gmail Notifier is free and can be run in Windows XP, Vista and 7.
Gmail Alerts Users on Simultaneous and Different Geographic Region Login
Gmail is one of the fastest webmail with a clean interface but packed with useful features including the free POP and SMTP access. One of the recent updates on Gmail is it is able to detect suspicious account activity by alerting the user at the bottom of the page if the account is open in other locations.

For example, you are from US and you open your Gmail. If someone is also logged in to your Gmail account from Japan, you will see the notice at the bottom saying “This account is open in 1 other location (IP ADDRESS). Last account activity: X minutes ago. Details“. If the IP address looks unfamiliar to you, you can click on the Details link that shows you the access type either through browser, mobile, POP3 followed by location with IP address and date/time.
A new alert has been added to Gmail that also checks if the login is done on a different country. A login appearing to come from one country and occurring a few hours after a login from another country may trigger an alert. This is a very useful feature because now the hackers that used keyloggers on people to steal login information will have to make sure that they use the proxy/vpn that matches the country of the previous gmail login or else the owner will receive a warning that says “We believe your account was recently access from: Country”

If you are traveling on a different country and logs in to your Gmail from there, you might want to ignore the warning. Good job Google on this new upgrade!

Hotmail offers free SMTP and POP access for email clients to auto check, download new emails and also to send out emails. If you want to periodically check your Hotmail but find it unnecessary to setup your Hotmail to use an email client such as Outlook to check your emails, then perhaps Hotmail Watcher might be a good alternative.

Easily and Quickly Send Link to a Gmail as Bookmark Alternative
The web browser offers a bookmark feature where you can save the link of a webpage that you visit so you can revisit that website again without memorizing the whole URL. Another method that can be used as bookmark is your webmail. Gmail offers a lot of space which you will never probably finish using them as the space are kept on being increased every second. Even when you are at work, saving websites that you love to visit in your bookmark is not such a good idea because the administrator could login to your computer and check if you have any offensive bookmarks.
What you can do is send the links to your webmail such as gmail so you can access them even when you are not on your computer. You can create a bookmark folder on your gmail and move all the links that you sent to yourself into that folder, making it an online bookmark in your webmail!
If you are a Firefox user, you should install this extension called Email YourSelf!. It allows you to easily email yourself the link, title, and a selected summary of the webpage you are viewing using Gmail. Instead of typing gmail.com, log in, go to Compose, type the email address, subject and include the link in the body, Email YourSelf! automates nearly everything.
After installing Email YourSelf! plugin, go to Tools, Add-Ons and click the Options button for Email YourSelf!. First you need to set your GMail Address which is where you are going to send the email address to. In fact you can also set a different email address instead of Gmail. As for the Personal Identification Message, it is a message where this plugin embeds to the subject to be used on filter. You can for example, use [BOOKMARK] and create a filter to move every emails containing the subject [BOOKMARK] to bookmarks folder.
After you’ve configured Email YourSelf!, you can use the hotkey CTRL+ALT+TILDE (The tilde key is normally located at left side of number 1 and the sign is ~) which will auto opens your Gmail and key in all the necessary information. All you need to do then is to click the Send button.
Web-Based Email (Hotmail) VS Desktop Email (Outlook)
There are two methods to check and send your email which is either through web based email or desktop email. If you don’t know the difference, a web based email is something like what you normally do what you log in to hotmail.com and does all your emailing stuff from there. As for desktop email, you only require a software such as Microsoft Outlook and all your emailing is done from there. Is there any different? Yes, and which method to use very much depends on the user itself.
Pros of Web Based Email
* Nothing to install. Every computer comes with Internet Explorer and you can use that to check your web based email.
* Can access your emails anywhere
* Your email interface looks the same even if you’re on a different computerCons of Web Based Email
* Requires active internet connection to access your emails
* The webmail interface can be slow if the internet connection is slow
* Stuck with the interface if the email provider decides to change it
* Emails are stored in one location and if no proper steps are done to backup your emails, accidental deletion can never get your mails back.
* Quota on how many emails to keep depending on the webspace given by the email provider
Now lets take a look at the pros and cons of using a desktop email.
Pros of Desktop Email
* Do not need an internet connection to read the emails that you’ve already downloaded
* A lot of email programs to choose from such as Outlook, Eudora, Thunderbird to suit your needs
* The amount of emails that you can save depends on your hard drive
* Email program interface is fast and does everything as fast as your computer
* Able to backup emails to a single database file and save it elsewhere.Cons of Desktop Email
* Emails that are downloaded to desktop email are normally deleted off the web by default. You will need to configure it so that it leaves a copy on the server.
There you have it. It is obvious that the desktop email is more powerful and flexible allowing you to do much more than a web-based email. Most of the famous free email providers such as Hotmail, Yahoo and Gmail already provides free POP3 access for you to download your emails to email clients. Again I would like to stress the importance of backing up your email and also configuring your email clients to leave a copy on the server so you can have access to your emails.
View All Attachment Files in Outlook with OutlookAttachView

Microsoft Outlook is a very powerful email client that is mostly used in companies. After using Microsoft Outlook to communicate with clients and sending and receiving attachments, overtime the number of attachments on your Outlook profile gets very big and Outlook will tend to be slower when that happens. To clear up all those old attachments which are not needed is not an easy task as you will need to browse through thousands of emails in your outlook.
The easy way of checking all the attachments in Outlook is to use a tool call OutlookAttachView to scan all messages stored in your Outlook, and displays the list of all attached files that it finds. You can easily select one or more attachments and save all of them into the desired folder, as well as you can delete unwanted large attachments that take too much disk space in your mailbox. You can also save the list of attachments into xml/html/text/csv file.

OutlookAttachView doesn’t require any installation process or additional dll files. In order to start using it, simply run the executable file – OutlookAttachView.exe. If you have only one profile in your Outlook, and this profile doesn’t require any password, you can run OutlookAttachView even without starting Outlook, and it’ll automatically scan the mailbox of your current Outlook profile. Otherwise, it’s recommended to open Outlook in the right profile before starting OutlookAttachView. After running it, OutlookAttachView starts to scan your Outlook messages and display the found attachments in the main window of OutlookAttachView. If you want to stop the scan process, simply choose the ‘Stop’ menu. After the scanning process is finished, you can select one or more of your attached files, and copy them into the desired folder, by using the ‘Copy Selected Files To’ option. If have large attachments that you want to delete, you can use the ‘Delete Selected Attachments’ option. Be aware that when you use the delete option, only the attachment file is deleted. The message itself remains on your mailbox. You can also use the ‘Clean Selected Attachments’ option to clean most of the attachment content, but without removing the attachment entry. If you use this option, you’ll still see the attachment listed in your email message with small file size, but saving this attachment to a file will create a corrupted file.
OutlokAttachView is absolutely free, portable, works with any version of Microsoft Outlook and runs on Windows 2000/XP/Vista/2003/2008/7.
