GMX Mail is a free webmail service provided by GMX (Global Mail Exchange). GMX was founded in 1997 and is now a subsidiary of United Internet AG, a stock-listed company in Germany. GMX offers a free webmail service called “GMX FreeMail” which currently hosts about 11,000,000 (11 million) active users in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. GMX has been able to see its e-mail customer count surge rapidly during the past years. Its main competitor in the German market is Web.de mail (also owned by United Internet). The newly added English language version boasts a greater variety of features than its German counterpart, but still remaining free of charge.

GMX is a very good and RELIABLE email provider. Since GMX is the biggest provider of free email in Germany it is for sure here to stay. Moreover GMX’s name is short with only 3 letters and easy to remember. GMX mail offers 5 GB e-mail storage and attachments up to a whoping 50 MB!

GMX POP3 Server: pop.gmx.com
GMX SMTP Server: mail.gmx.com
Use Authentication: Yes
Account Name: your full email address (including @gmx.com)
Email address: your email address (username@gmx.com)
Password: Your GMX Mail password

One good thing about GMX Mail’s POP and SMTP settings is they are ridiculously easy to remember and set up because it accepts all the default configuration. No need SSL or any special ports.

For nearly 2 MONTHS, we have not been able to sign in, due to
    “greying out”of input boxes

Is there any way in Gmail?

  5. T33P33 says:

Calling it a ‘German email’ is misleading. GMX servers are in America, so while the company itself is owned by Germans, the servers are American. It’s no better than having yahoo, gmail, etc.
