BarTab Puts Inactive Tabs in Firefox to Rest and Save Resources
Ever since web browsers started to have tabs, users no longer need to open multiple window anymore so that the taskbar doesn’t get messy. Tabs are supposed to save more memory usage instead of windows but we tend to abuse it by opening lots of them until the browser gets very slow. Even though Firefox support tabs, it doesn’t mean they are made to support hundreds of them open simultaneously unless you have a super computer. Even if your computer can support a lot of tabs, navigating between them is not easy as well.
Good news is there is a useful plugin called BarTab for Firefox which can reduce the Firefox memory usage even when you have lots of tabs opened. With BarTab you can put all those tabs on your bar tab and only pay for the load when you actually want to visit them. BarTab intercepts when a tab is loaded in the background (e.g. after a browser restart) and will only load the content when the tab is actually visited.
Watch out for their upcoming version 1.3 because it will contain a very useful feature that allows you to unload tabs again, in other words put them back on your bartab, either manually through the context menu or an automatic timer. If you haven’t try it, you should and I am sure you will notice at least 100% memory improvement compared to not having this plugin installed.

Auto Mute Speakers When Windows is Locked
It gets pretty annoying when you are in your office and everyone is out for lunch. Computers are normally left turned on because everyone can’t wait to rush off for lunch and then turn it back on when they get back. When they leave their computer on and locked, they also forget that their speakers are also working. If ICQ is running, they’d get the good old “uh-oh” sound whenever they receive a message. Same for Windows Live Messenger, there are sounds when a contact sign in, receive a new instant message or even a nudge flood!
This tool called “Mute on Lock” solves this problem. Mute on Lock is a tiny resident utility that sits in the system tray and monitors your session: when you are locking your Windows workstation, it mutes the sound of your speakers. With the help of this program you can quickly mute or unmute the system sound by double-clicking the tray icon or using an optional hot key.
Mute on Lock Features:
- Supports all Windows NT operating systems with fast user switching, from Microsoft Windows XP up to Windows 7, including x64 editions.
- An icon in the system tray area, which allows you to control various program settings.
- You can set a hotkey for muting and unmuting the system sound.
- You can mute/unmute sound by double-clicking the tray icon.
- Automatically loading each time Windows starts.
- The portable version of Mute on Lock is available.
- The modest main memory and disk space usage.
- The program is absolutely free!

Analyze JPEG Error Level using Image Forensics Techniques
Whenever you resave a JPEG image, it actually loses quality. For example, if you have a JPG image that has 90% quality and you resave it again at 90% quality, you will end up with an image at 81% quality. The quality doesn’t gets maintained except it kept on dropping. Logically to know if the image has been resaved multiple times or tampered with is nearly impossible. Thanks to Error level analysis, it can help you work out if a photo has been digitally altered. Error level analysis allows you see to see the difference in quality level, represented by brightness. Things which are very bright have been edited most recently, whilst duller parts have been resaved multiple times. This allows you to see not just which parts of the image have been changed, but in what order the changes occurred.
It is easy to use Error Level Analysis. You will only need to specify a direct link to the image, click a button and the JPEG image will be processed. The only con about this free service is the quality of the JPEG image to be processed has to be really good. If a picture has been resaved many times, or if a picture is of a very low jpeg quality, it is quite difficult to determine accurately whether it has been digitally altered. Likewise, if all parts of a picture have been saved the same amount of times, it will not pick up either. It did not mention if there is a size restriction on the image it can process.
Click HERE to visit Error Level Analysis official website to have your JPEG image analyzed if it has been tampered with.

Mail Classic,” which continues the availability of the simpler 1997-2006 interface for the brand’s considerable installed base of users. In early 2008, Yahoo! started offering unlimited mail storage even to its non-paying users, in response to heated competition in the free-web mail market segment.
